LovePDFEditor

About Us

LovePDFEditor is a free set of PDF tools that run entirely in your web browser. You can edit, sign, merge, split, compress, rotate, watermark and redact PDFs without installing software, creating an account or uploading your files anywhere.

Why we built it

Most people only need to change a PDF now and then: fill in a form, sign a letter, join two scans or shrink a file so it fits in an email. Desktop editors are expensive for that, and most free websites work by uploading your document to their servers first. That is a poor fit for the documents people most often need to edit, such as contracts, bank statements, ID scans and medical forms.

We wanted a tool that is quick, free and keeps those files private by design rather than by promise.

How it works

When you open a PDF on LovePDFEditor, it is read from your device into your browser's memory and processed there. Pages are displayed with PDF.js, the open-source PDF engine created by Mozilla, and your changes are written into a new file with pdf-lib, another open-source library. When you export, the finished PDF is saved straight back to your device.

Our website delivers the tools to your browser, but it never receives your documents. You can check this yourself: open your browser's developer tools, watch the Network tab and edit a file, and you will not see your PDF being sent anywhere.

What you can do

Our principles

  • Private by default. Your files stay on your device. We have no copy of them to lose, sell or hand over.
  • Free to use. No sign-up, no watermark added to your files and no daily limit.
  • Honest about limits. We say plainly what each tool does and does not do. For example, the redaction tool covers content with a box rather than deleting the text underneath, and we explain that on the tool's page.
  • Works everywhere. The tools are built for current versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Edge on desktop and mobile.
